Modern Gardener celebrates and supports those committed to educating and enlightening Utahns about gardening and landscaping in our unique region. The series is a project of PBS Utah that celebrates sustainable growing in Utah - gardens and landscapes that nourish the body and the spirit.

Utah is different—our weather, precipitation, climate, and even culture are unique from other parts of the country. So, it only makes sense that to grow right, our landscapes need to be different too.The Localscape approach is a series of landscaping patterns and practices that takes into account Utah’s unique climate. "Localize" your yard!

Utah State University Extension’s resources are easy to use, but also specific to the climate, soils, and other conditions you’ll be working with right here in our home state. Select a topic on their website for valuable resources which will assist in making your yard or garden successful this year.

The Utah Associated Garden Clubs, Inc. are part of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., sharing its mission to provide education, resources, and networking opportunities for our members, and to promote the love of gardening, floral design, and civic and environmental responsibility. We currently have 10 member clubs in the state of Utah, with about 300 individual members.

The Utah Native Plant Society is dedicated to the appreciation, preservation, conservation and responsible use of the native plant and plant communities found in the state of Utah and the Intermountain West. Our goal is to foster public recognition of the spectacularly diverse flora of the state--a natural treasure to be valued, respected
and protected.

In addition to our own production fields, we use an extensive network of trusted wildland seed collectors and growers built over decades of experience. Progressive Plants

Your Local Plant Source for Commercial and Residential Landscaping Projects. We grow trees, shrubs, and perennials for large scale commercial projects as well as for homeowners. Our focus is locally grown, waterwise and drought tolerant plants proven to do well in the West, coupled with online ordering convenience.

Oasis Gardens, a nursery with a focus on Joshua Trees, Saguaro, other Cacti, Yucca, Agave and other hard to find desert plants. We have a storefront with gallery space, tropical houseplants, succulents, and merchandise made by local artists. We also have outdoor art and water features, also made locally. We also host classes and other indoor and outdoor events. We are excited to be a part of the Southern Utah gardening community, and providing people with more drought tolerant options!

Regardless of if you are into gardening or not, bringing plants into the home has a way of freshening up your space and adding life to your home.
